Great protector,
I received this screen protector just two days after I received my new iPad, and I left the original plastic on the iPad so hopefully there wouldn’t be any dust to hassle with, as other reviewers have pointed out. It was easy for me to put on with no problems. There were some air bubbles which I removed with a credit card. I had thought there were a couple of specks of dust under the cover, but they came off when I removed the top plastic sheet. I was expecting all kinds of problems because of the negative reviews but there were none, and now I have two extra sheets. Great product, and it shouldn’t give anyone problems if they pay attention to the valuable hints from successful reviewers and follow the directions carefully.

I purchased this pack of screen protectors because the reviews looked good, the price was good, and it comes with three of them in case I screwed up one or two.
I didn’t find these any harder to install than other screen protectors that I have used in the past — installing these things is just inherently tricky. You need to make sure you are in a dust-free environment, clean the iPad screen thoroughly, and work carefully. I got it installed fairly well on the first attempt. There are a few tiny specks of dust that got trapped under the protector, but they are hardly visible. I didn’t want to risk making things worse by trying to pick the dust out, so I’m just leaving it as-is for now.
The screen protector itself looks great: it is nearly invisible and doesn’t affect the awesome crispness of the iPad display at all. It also doesn’t seem to negatively affect the “feel” of the display to the touch. I’ve used iPad screen protectors in the past that caused the screen to feel tacky, but this one feels nice.
I have two gripes, however:
* This thing does nothing to cut down on fingerprints and smudges that collect on the screen during normal use. In fact, it is actually a little worse: normally, a microfiber cloth will easily wipe off fingerprints on the iPad’s screen. The same cleaning process seems to require more effort (and is less effective) with the screen protector on. I think this is because the protector doesn’t have the same anti-oil coating that the actual screen does.
* Once installed, my screen now seems to have an iridescent “shimmer” effect to it. I was actually really annoyed when I first noticed it, so much so that I was considering returning the protectors for a refund. I was amazed that no one else had reported this problem. Then I got home from the office and couldn’t see the shimmer anymore. I think it is still present, but seems to only be visible under certain kinds of light (e.g. the fluorescent lights in my office). I’m still curious if this is something that anyone else has observed. Leave a comment if you have.
Anyway, to wrap up, these protectors will do the job. The price, combined with the fact that you get three of them in the pack, makes this a recommended choice for keeping your iPad screen scratch-free. Amazon describes a three-star rating as “It’s OK”, which is exactly what this product is.

|Good thing there are 3 in the package,
these types of protectors are always a little bit tricky. It took me three attempts to get it right. Here is what I learned:
1. be careful peeling the black front cover off at the end. I accidentally pulled the whole protector off and threw it aside thinking I was just peeling off the top film.
2. perform the installation in a clean room. any spec of dust within 1 mile will attach itself to the sticky side of your protector right when you go to apply it.
3. I found it easier to hold both sides of the film in such a way that I could use the cutout holes for the camera and the home button to align the sheet properly.
Now I see why they package them in threes. I ruined two of them in the application process! Seems to work great now that it is on.
Bonus: microfiber cleaning cloth and an air bubble remover tool are both included!
